This Privacy Policy describes how Helio ("the app," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use our mobile application.
Helio uses your device's location only to calculate sunrise and sunset times for your current position. Your location is never stored on our servers, never shared with third parties, and never used for advertising or tracking. The app works entirely without creating an account.
Location data. Helio requests access to your device's GPS location to calculate accurate sunrise and sunset times for wherever you are. This data is used only on your device, in the moment, to perform this calculation. We do not store your location history, and we do not transmit your location to any server we operate.
Notification preferences. If you enable notifications, Helio schedules local reminders on your device based on your calculated schedule. This scheduling happens entirely on your device using your operating system's built-in notification system. No notification content or schedule data is sent to us.
Feedback you choose to send. If you use the "Send Feedback" option in Settings, your device's email app will open with our contact address pre-filled. Any information you choose to include in that email is sent directly to us via your own email provider, and is used solely to respond to your feedback.
Analytics (future). We may, in future versions of the app, use anonymized, aggregated analytics services to understand general app usage patterns (such as which features are used most often) in order to improve the app. Any such analytics will not include your precise location, your name, or any other personally identifying information. If this changes in a way that affects your personal data, we will update this policy and notify users within the app.
Helio uses your device's operating system services (Apple's Core Location and Apple/Google notification frameworks) to function. These services are governed by Apple's and Google's own privacy policies. We do not integrate any third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.
Helio stores your notification preferences and onboarding status locally on your device only. This information never leaves your device and is deleted automatically if you uninstall the app.
Helio is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
